THE RESTLESS KIND
is
six (and often seven) members
Guitar, Fiddle, Keyboard, Drums, Bass,
Male Vocals, Female Vocals, Tight Harmonies
which all add up to
One Great Country Music Variety Show For Audiences Of All Ages
It’s
no mystery that unique instrumentation is what sets The Restless Kind apart from
other bands. The mystery is how they make it look so easy, and have so much fun
doing it. The answer lies in the histories of, and the chemistry between, the
members.
TRK
is an exciting force in country music. Its players have established
themselves as consummate pros over many years and many projects (over 200 years
of combined pro music experience). Various bands on the resumes of these
performers include Southbound, Matanzas, Divorce This, Fully Loaded, Lisa Lisa
& The Boy Toys, and the
Southeast Georgia Symphony Orchestra – all of which have had two, three, and
even four of the members of TRK in their lineups. So when you think it looks
like these guys (and gals) have been doing this together for years, you’re
right. There’s also a strong family connection in the band – when a certain
favorite guest player sits in, four of the band members are related.
Having gotten the issue of “getting comfortable” with each other (no small feat with a band of this size) out of the way long ago, this band got right down to the business of making great music. The collective repertoires of the band members, along with a great knack for song selection on the part of their leader, has resulted in a hugely entertaining show that covers five decades of classic and modern country music, with a healthy dose of classic and southern rock tossed in just to keep things interesting. This band loves getting up close and personal with its audience, and while the foundation of the TRK show lies in its flawless musicianship, the fun lies in the audience interaction, the comfortable rapport shared by these players, and the sheer joy each of them takes in doing what they love.
