Weekly Computer Maintenance

As with automobiles, computers require a certain amount of maintenace to keep them running in good form.  Below are programs that are installed on your computer. If for any reason they are not installed please click here to download and install the program(s).  As you run these programs, please check to see if there is a update available.  If a update is available please download it and proceed with the instructions I have included within each section.

If you do this maintenace on a weekly basis, you should have trouble free computing.

 

First:    Ad-Aware - Checks your computer for certain types of spyware, key loggers and other threats

Second:  SpyBot -  Checks/Repairs for certain types of spyware,  and other threats

Third:   AVG Antivirus -  Keeps/Removes Viruses and other types of troublesome infections out of your computer

Fourth:  Utilities -  This program will check your system for program related problems.  Another part of the program will take split files and unite them for faster operation.

Fifth:   SpywareBlaster - Protects your system from certain types of threats and will take a "snapshot" of your computer. Should your computer have a problem, you can revert to a earlier time when the computer was running correctly. This is a very important maintenance item to do on a consistent basis.
