Waimea is a country, cowboy, horse area, overshadowed by the expansive Parker Ranch. Take Hwy 250 between Waimea and Hawi on the Northern coast. You can incorporate the drive with your visit to the "end of the road" on Hwy 270 at Pololu Valley just past Halawa.
You will find it hard to believe you are in Hawaii and not some side road in Northern California!
