New House
Rules
In an
effort to allow everyone to have a good time in Hawaii and avoid
missunderstandings I have created a House Information and House Rules
webpage. Most of the rules are common sense, but its best to make
things clear. I believe in the French version of hosting:
Welcome
and aloha; come and go as you like, help
yourself to anything in my home; if you want me to take you somewhere
let me know, otherwise you are on your own.

House
Rules
(click on camera icons for pictures)
Your bedroom suite is separate (private) from the
rest of the house, i.e. you have your own bedroom, full bathroom and
access to the lanai and second floor entrance. The Living room and
Kitchen are between your bedroom suite and the master bedroom
(
<floorplan).
You have a TV/VCR (cable), air conditioner, ceiling fan,
phone, walkin closet, shower/tub (full bath), desk & chair and
lanai area (room is fully furnished
<tour).
Help yourself to drinks and food in the house. However if you are staying awhile it would be nice if you replenished the drinks and food at sometime.
You are welcome to use the computer (in living room) and
phone and
make local (this Island) calls. However, if you need to make long
distance phone calls or be online with the computer for long
periods -- ask first. I do not answer the phone when it rings
(goes to recorder) -- you can answer it if you want, however if its for
me, unless you know I want to talk to the person, just take a message.
You are welcome to use my truck if you know how to
use a 5-speed manual transmission. However if you plan on making
trips around the Island or be gone for more than a day, it would be
best if you
get a rental car (just 2 miles away:
<map to house) for that
period (I can get you a "local" rate).
Sounds travels very well in this area, and people keep all their windows and doors open, so no loud noises after about 9pm. FYI: If you are saying anything you don't want the whole neighborhood to know, then you need to close the doors and windows in the room you are in.
Your bedroom bookcase has lots of tourist information including maps, menus, brochures, tours, etc., and I can both direct you to places and also suggest places. However, I may not want to go with you when you go. I have lots of daily maintenance and other duties here so I maybe selective about what adventures I accompany you on. Plus I have an illness that may unannounced require me to rest.
Every place is different, right? Well Hawaii has
a number of
unique customs that if you observe them, you will have a much more
pleasant
and enjoyable time here.
Well that's about all I can think of -- if you have any questions then email me below... ta and aloha
