What level of education, or age of the reader, is this book for? This book was written for readers of ALL ages. I originally intented for it to be mainly for young readers, but during the editting phase of the book I discovered that adults liked the book just as much as kids, so I re-worded the book so it does not "talk down" to the reader, but still explains the subject in simple comparisons and terms. Using this and the multitude of graphics (half the pages have graphics), readers of all ages can finally get what electricity is about.
What inspired you to write the book in the first place? I came up with the idea for using water to explain electricity over thirty years ago! It occurred to me then that the behavior and physical conduct of water and electricity were very similar, and that since everyone understood what water is and does, that it might be a good way to explain electricity by doing a comparison to it. I had taken previously taken several classes in the basics of electricity and they always seemed to be so needlessly technical, complex and confusing. I can't say why I waited so many years to finally put it all down in a book, or even why I did it when I did, but after about two years of writing and editting, it became a reality.
Why do you think people should read your book? Most everyone uses electricity every day, but few of us truely know what it is. Many are afraid of it, but they're not sure why, or what it is about electricity that is dangerous. They may have a rough idea how a flashlight works, but are lost when it comes to Alternating Current or how there car engine "recharges" the battery. Knowledge is power, and when it comes to something so common in our modern lives, a basic knowledge of what electricity is, seems like a very reasonable thing that we should all know. Wouldn't it be nice to have an understanding of how solar cells work or how to conserve on the use of electricity in your own home? Conservation of electricity and energy in general, has become an important practice for many of us and this book gives you lots of ways to do just that.
Is there some way I could see graphic and text samples of the book? Yes, just go to the Samples Page in this web site, which has several examples of book illustrations and a portion of the text that goes with those graphics. If you would like to see more samples or further information about the book, you can request via email a detailed listing of information on the book.
Where can I buy your book? It is not very common for it to be in stock in local bookstores, although they can special order it for you by giving them the Title and ISBN: 1560026367. However, it is in all the virtual online bookstores, like Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, Borders Books, Cherry Valley, etc., as well as major book distributors like Baker and Taylor. If you want to go directly to the page the book is offered on one of the virtual bookstores then go to the Ordering Information page in this web site. You can also order the book via the US mail by going to the US mail Order Form page. You can also buy the book, via a credit card, directly from the author from ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD! Currency exchange is at the prevailing rate at time of purchase. To use this option, click on the logo below:

What ways can I use the book, and how have others used it? Many readers use the book to help them start a new career in the electrical or electronics fields. Teachers often purchase the book to help with lesson plans on teaching electricity in class. The book has been used as a textbook in both elementary, High School and Junior College levels. It has been used as a training text for electrical and beginning electronics classes. It has been used as a reference source by electrical utilities when dealing with customer questions about electricity, and a media license for the internet was purchased by one utility, Southern Company, the largest electricity utility in the United States, as a reference source for the educational part of their internet web site. But I imagine a lot of readers just want to have a working knowledge of what this powerful force is that surrounds them in their home, and how to conserve on its use. Many are families with solar electric homes, or ones considering converting to one. For more information of this subject you can go to the License Information page.
How can I offer comments on the web site or your book? I always welcome comments from readers of the book or site visitors. You can email at any time with your comments or questions. Also you can read what others have thought of the book and the web site by going to the Comments/Reviews Page.

Special imprints, logos or labels can help "personalize" your book copies and my License Page gives some information on that. Please contact me for further details and specifics.
There are many books on electricity - what's different about yours? The "difference" is the basis of why I even wrote the book. Every book I have read on the basics of electricity is technical, confusing and quite honestly, tells you more than you need to know. This is because most of these books are written for people looking for a continued career in Electrical Engineering or Electronics repair, not someone just wanting to know what electricity is. My book uses comparisons to what you already know, and lots of illustrations (half the pages have graphics) to explain how and what electricity is. You actually don't need to understand molecular science to grasp what this powerful energy is that surrounds you in your home.
What are the stats on the book (e.g. size, cover, pages, etc.)?
Book is 64 pages; "perfect bound" (plastic coated); it is 5 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches (216 x 140 mm); weighs 3.08 oz (88 grams); Library of Congress number 95-090925; ISBN # 1-56002-636-7.
