Backing Up and Restoring Your Calendar
You can save the information in your calendar on a 3.5-inch diskette. With this backup copy of your calendar, you can transfer your occasions, settings, holidays, and comments to an IDEAL Calendar on another computer. You can also use the backup to restore the information in your calendar in case the information or calendar is lost. In any case, you must backup or restore the calendar for one user at at time.
Backing Up Your Calendar
To backup your calendar:
- Click Settings. The Calendar Settings dialog box appears.
- Click the Users tab in the Calendar Settings dialog box. The Users options appear:
- Click the arrow at the right of the Current user field in the User information box. A drop-down list of calendar users appears.
- In the drop-down list of users, click the name of the user whose calendar you want to backup.
- Insert a blank 3.5-inch diskette into your computer's diskette drive.
- Click Backup in the User information box. The Browse for Folder dialog box appears:
- Double-click My Computer. A list of the components and files in your computer appears.
- Click 3½ Floppy (A:) in the list of components and files in your computer.
- Click OK in the Browse for Folder dialog box. The Users options appear, and Backup was successful appears at the bottom of the User information box.
The calendar information for the selected user is now stored on the diskette.
Restoring Your Calendar
To restore the information for a user's calendar on the same computer or on another computer, follow these steps:

- Open the IDEAL Calendar and click Settings. The Calendar Settings dialog box appears.
- Click the Users tab in the Calendar Settings dialog box. The Users options appear.
- Click the arrow at the right of the Current user field in the User information box. A drop-down list of calendar users appears.
- In the drop-down list of users, click the name of the user whose calendar you want to restore.
- Insert the 3.5-inch diskette with the user's backup information into your computer's diskette drive.
- Click Restore in the User information box. The Browse for Folder dialog box appears.
- Double-click My Computer. A list of the components and files in your computer appears.
- Click 3½ Floppy (A:) in the list of components and files in your computer.
- Click OK in the Browse for Folder dialog box. The Users options appear, and Copying file ... appears at the bottom of the User information box as the restore happens.
The calendar information for the selected user is now restored.
